About Us

Back in June 1996, John Major was Prime Minister, The Runaway Jury by John Grisham was one of the best-selling books and England's hopes of being European champions of football for the first time were ended with a penalty shootout defeat to Germany (again!). On this month in a small office in south-east London, with a team of just two, Babel was started with a vision of offering highly tailored, flexible and professional training to clients working internationally.

One of our earliest commissions involved training the staff hosting the prestigious Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in October 1997. The eyes of the world were, quite literally, upon the Edinburgh International Conference Centre during the four-day event. It was a great accolade for the EICC and Babel to help support their front of house staff as expectations were high.

More than twenty years later, we are so proud that 70 per cent of our income each year comes from repeat business from long-term, loyal clients, whose testimonials and case studies you can read now.
